TKD Revisited
Approximately 4 weeks ago, I began doing TKD again. This time I'm in a one-on-one class, similar to what it had been. I am working on my red belt, I now have a blue belt. I work on a lot of kicking. Form is probably the toughest. I work on knifehand strike. #entertainment #health

Bowling Surrounded by Green Shirts
I competed in the Special Olympics bowling tournament at Bowlero Naperville. This picture looks orange because all their lights are orange. I had to get there early on a Sunday morning. It was crowded. We bowled 3 games as opposed to the usual 2. There was trouble with the automatic scoring because of the lighting. I got 3rd place in my division. I would like to participate again, perhaps in a different location. #community #health #charity

Good Day for Golfing
Exactly one week ago, Sheila, Randy and I went to Geneva to help at this golfing site. I was chosen for this event because I am a Special Olympics Global Messenger. It was a fundraiser for Special Olympics. We helped the players and guided them at Hole 5. We rode golf carts to get there. It was my first time riding in a golf cart - I was scared to death! I had to really hang on. Sheila didn't think she was going to make it either! I got to meet some interesting people like

Good day for bowling
It was a semi-unusual day yesterday in Warrenville. It was rainy while we were inside. We went up to the cashier like normal for B-Buddies bowling and they told us what lanes to go to. Went there, got our balls and shoes, and started to bowl. Unusually, unlike the past 2 games I came in last place and did not break 100 quite yet. Caitlin won the 2nd game, and I won the 3rd. I got 2 strikes in the final game, so that really helped my score of course. We were there a long time

Miles for Smiles
On April 30, Celebrate Differences held a 5K fundraiser. I walked along with my Mom and cousin Claire. Dad and Anthony ran the race. It was a rainy day, we walked with an umbrella. I took first place in my division!!! An estimated 500 - 1,000 people were there. My family likes to support Celebrate Differences! #community #health #charity

The Perfect Night
Getting ready! I was getting ready for the Special Needs Prom! The theme was a masquerade / Mardi Gras party. I knew several people who were going: Caitlin, Gayle, Randy, Rachel, Erin, Gabby, Maryann, April, Zack, Stephanie. Also Cinderella and Prince Charming showed up! I walked the red carpet on the way in, much like you would see at a Hollywood premiere. I got a boutonniere. There was face painting / arm painting while they played some great songs. Why get your face painte

Bowling during the Super Bowl
On Sunday night, I got to watch the Super Bowl while I was bowling. It was a usual Sunday schedule ... we went to Main Event in Warrenville, to the bowling alley portion like usual. We got checked in because we are in a league. We went to the lane they told us to go to. As you can tell here, it was the very last one (see above). Sheila brought a football board game as seen in the picture. We played the board game for big-time prizes while we were bowling. I won a prize 4 time

Three in a Row
Once upon a time, in a faraway magical land known as Batavia IL, a great basketball game was being played. We won our third consecutive game!!! I played pretty well. I didn't make any baskets but I played a lot of defense, with a lot of rebounding. I did not get to shoot much. A player from the other team #45 was surrounding me and putting her arms way above mine to block me. For the first 2 or 3 minutes, nobody scored. Later on in the 4th quarter the score was us 20, them 8.

New Year/New Possibilities
I am taking some time to look through new possibilities for 2017 with volunteering and fun activities with FVSRA and Tae Kwon Do. Some possibilities are: Pay it Forward - do various service projects in the surrounding community Aktion Club - a group that serves the community and develops leadership skills Open Mic Night - take turns singing your favorite tunes Friends Night In - have dinner, play games, swim and have a snack Husky Heroes - The Morton Arboretum is hosting thei

2nd Consecutive Victory
My basketball team played NEDSRA last night in Addison IL. We had a 1-week break for the holidays and were back in action. Before the game, we were doing the shuffle exercise. I was in the back row. We went all the way there, as we were going back to the starting point, I think I bumped into someone or was shuffling too quickly and I fell. I needed an ice pack, and I still need one today. It was really hard to shake it off and play, but I did it. I was out for the first 4 min
